Class By Request:   Extreme Computer Basics

Presented by:  Monica Tombers of Just So!

 Friday, September 25th8:29 a.m. to 9:59 a.m. and 5:59 p.m. to 7:29 p.m.  (90 minutes)

When someone says “Mouse,” is your first thought of something four-footed and furry?  When you hear “Windows,” do you think Windex and paper towels?  Then this class may be for you.

 OR

Have you watched someone else at a computer do something real neat, but it was too fast to catch how they did it?  Do you think that “Defrag” is a retro 60’s dance move?  Do you figure the right mouse button is only for left-handed people?  Do you know why it might be better for you set up that way?  Then this class may also be for you.

Beginning computer users will get a basic foundation and regular computer users may learn some shortcuts and why some things work the way they do.  The focus will be on Hardware Basics, Windows Basics, and Microsoft Office Basics.

There are two classes on this day.  Both will start with the same syllabus.  Potentially, additional classes may be offered if there is interest.

For the most effective experience, please bring your laptop.  If you do not have a laptop, before class starts, please find another class member to share with you.  WiFi capability is not needed for this class.

About Monica Tombers:  Although her favorite title right now is “Associate Jewelry Designer,” she has over 2 decades of experience in presenting hands-on computer instruction at university and business level.  She is by no means an expert, but is willing to share what she knows.  This class is based on a comprehensive 3 Day “Introduction to Computers” course she used to teach around the US.
